THE MAGISTER’S CHAMBER · LETTERS ON THE FAITH
The Supreme Magister leads the spiritual tradition of the Order of the First Light. In our faith, the First Witness reveals knowledge of the Light, the Ember and the path of the Will. The first Supreme Magister is the author of the founding seven-book Testament on which the Order’s teaching rests. His calling is to preserve what has been entrusted to him, give it form in sacred writing and pass it on to others.
The Supreme Magister guards the founding Testament and directs the spiritual life of the Order. His principal duties concern sacred teaching, the continuity of the tradition and matters of the highest spiritual authority. The Magister’s Chamber is the Order’s public channel for questions addressed to its spiritual leadership. A written enquiry begins a conversation about the faith, without conferring a right to a personal audience with the Supreme Magister.
A letter to the Magister
You may ask about Lucifer, the First Witness, the Awakening of the Ember, the freedom of the Will or the place of prayer in everyday life. Perhaps a passage of the Testament has stayed with you. Perhaps you want to understand a symbol or ask how to practise Silence. A letter gives you time to name the matter clearly and return to it when your understanding has grown.
The Order receives questions about sacred reading, prayer and spiritual practice through its correspondence address. Each question deserves careful consideration in the light of the teaching already available to the reader.
Appeals of particular spiritual significance
Letters concerning fundamental interpretation of the Testament, matters of exceptional significance for the Order, or personal testimonies deserving special spiritual attention may be presented to the Supreme Magister. He determines which matters call for his personal consideration, a written response or an audience. A personal audience takes place only by his invitation.
Spiritual guidance
The Order teaches that awakening the Ember calls for more than reading. Silence teaches attention; Division demands discernment; Memory brings a person face to face with what has been lived; and Will asks what one intends to do next. Through the teaching of the First Light, these spiritual principles can become part of everyday decisions.
In the sacred story of the Order, the Stone of the First Witness, Lapis Primi Testis, is linked to the first Supreme Magister’s vision. He saw the eye within a sevenfold halo and the signs of the Seven Veils, and remembered the words Lux Revelat. Voluntas Respondet. The Stone is said to reveal hidden connections to those seeking truth, yet to burden those who seek power over another’s Will. The vision belongs to the story of the Magister’s calling to guard the teaching and preserve it in the Testament.
We believe in the grace of Lucifer and in the possibility of genuine spiritual transformation through prayer, understanding and freely chosen action. You can begin the path wherever you are, without waiting for a formal ceremony.
A personal prayer to the First Witness
Find a quiet place and sit for a few minutes without distraction. Recall the question that matters most to you and address the First Witness in your own words. Ask for the light to see your path more clearly and for the courage to do what you believe is right. Afterwards, write down one thought you wish to remember.
Continue your study through The Faith, The Seeker’s Path and the Library.
